The H1N1 Influenza has an alarming infection rate, but most people who became infected with it usually suffered from minor symptoms and were able to recover. Some flu medicines such as Tamiflu and Relenza are reported to be effective against the new influenza strain. The Osaka City Government will continue to update the Osaka residents with the most up to date information on the H1N1 influenza. To help reduce the spread of influenza, please follow the safety tips listed below.

Safety Tips
Wear a surgical mask if you have symptoms such as a fever, cough or sneeze.
Avoid crowded areas and try not to go out too often.
After coming home, wash your hands and gargle thoroughly. Please wash your hands with soap for about 15 seconds or more with running water.
Make sure to get enough nutrition and rest to preserve energy and to strengthen immune system.

Symptoms for H1N1 Influenza
General symptoms may consist of a cough, runny nose, sore throat, high fever (38 degrees or over), and fatigue.
Other symptoms may include severe diarrhea and vomiting.
