If you are under a health insurance program and you need to pay expenses related to child birth, you may be able to receive a lump sum birth allowance. First born baby: 350.000 yen
Second born baby and after: 400.000 yen

Persons under the National Health Insurance can apply at their local ward office's National Health Insurance and Pension Section.
Persons who have social insurance can apply at their social insurance office.
